Methods of recruiting

National press

Newspapers is another way of seeking jobs as they have pages about recruiting for TV and film jobs. The advantage of finding jobs of TV by newspaper is that you will know it is recent as you would have just got the newspaper with the latest news. A disadvantage to newspapers featuring jobs is that you it is not digital and wont update like online newspaper that updates so some newspapers that have jobs in film and TV might no longer be looking to hiring. This screenshot above is of a BBC national newspaper and this is helpful to anyone looking for this specific job as it give you details about the job and how long you have got to apply for the job as well as a link to their website in the newspaper for any further information.

Trade union in Tv and film

I have found a website which feature the trade union in TV and film and this is a page above is a screenshot of job offerings on the stage such as theatre management and other positions the stage as these can be done by film and TV by setting stage on stage instead of location. This is a good method to recruit people who have good experience with this and the job is available in multiple locations. In this page it also is given a help statement as this shows that they are in need of a theater management job. From this it shows that trade union in TV and film is a useful way to find job offers and a way of recruiting people who want to work in TV and Film as it is a whole page on the job and what the job will be about and why they would want people to do this job.

























Graduate

By having Graduate skills is very useful for certain jobs that can get you into Film and TV by having a graduate skill and qualification. This can get you a job in TV such as having a qualification in editing and having editorial skills. There are multiple ways of getting jobs in Film and TV as acting is a part of that and by having a qualification and skills in drama it can lead you to an acting career and can be working in both Film and TV.


Personal skills

Having personal skills is a great way to getting jobs as there are jobs that require you to have communication skills as there are jobs that require you to communicate with customers or clients. An example of having a job that requires communication skill can be stage managers as you would need communications skills to communicate to other staff members when setting up scenes in TV or a Film to make sure that the scene is ready for shooting.

Other types of personal skills that you can help you get jobs in Film and TV is to be organised as this can be important to have for certain jobs such as presentations as you would organise the presentation in order   to discuss how everything is being managed and what you would need to do to improve by showing it through a presentation.

Focus is another personal skill that is a very good skill to have in Film and TV as there are many jobs that require you to focus on such as a camera operator which you would need to focus on the types of shots you would need to do and focus on the timing of when you would need to do a type of camera shot.

Technological skills

With Film and TV most of the jobs is working with technology so having technological skills this can lead to a lot of jobs within Film and TV.  This can get you a job such as an editor because this job would need you to have the technological skills to editing scenes as most scenes are all used for editing.

There are other technological skills that help you get a job such as lighting on stages or a scene that has been shot on a stage in a Film and TV.  The most needed job for TV and Film is a camera operator, this requires technological skills for using the camera for shooting scenes and from this can lead you to filing for high budget movies and TV by having this technological skill.

Training needs

There some type of jobs in Film and TV that will require you to have Training. Camera operator is a job that you would need training so you know how to work and operate the camera. Another job that will require training needs for a job in TV and Film would be an editor as you would need tranning on how to edit scenes such as adding CGI into scenes or adding music into the TV or film for the soundtrack.

The national careers service is a source of information about jobs that can be a part of Film and TV. What the national careers service does is inform about jobs and can help guide you into getting jobs by providing you with the information about it.

This screenshot is an example of national services as this website is a useful source of information on jobs in Film in TV. So for jobs such as director for TV or film there is a page explaining everything that you need to be a director such as having personal skills like imagination and creative visions. The website also tells you about the hours you would need to work for certain jobs and also the income you would receive, as well as entry requirements in order to get the job.

Trade unions are important to have for an employer as trade unions help fight for your employer rights if you feel that you are being mistreated in anyway or not getting paid as much as you should then by having a trade union they will ensure that you get your employer rights. Trade union is very useful to freelance employees, as they go from job to job working with different companies which is why they would need trade unions, as there could be one company that goes against their employers rights.

Transferable skills

There are some skills that you might have picked up during your redecuation and you can apply those skills thta you have achieved into jobs for Film and TV.

Presentation for employment

Portfolio: This is is where it deals with peoples work documents on their skills and accomplishments which can be seen on contracts. Portfolios can have things such as art work and what people have created which can be there portfolio 

Show reel: This shown through a video tape of a director and actor by them showing a short video of their work which is used for employers to review their talent and if they would want to employ them to make a Film or TV.

Personal website: This is where people make a website based on their talents and skills showing what they can do. So employers would look a websites for this to hire new talent.

Curriculum vitae(CV): This is a page of information about someones skills and qualifications that people use to apply for jobs. It mentions their experiences that can sometimes help with applying to

jobs.

Application letters: These are letters for application for jobs and for an employer to highlight the qualifications and skills.

Interviewing skills: This is need in order to show that you are an employer who is dedicated and come across confident to show that you want the job. Having good communication skills is crucial in an interview as you would have to make your points across as to why you would want this job.

Presentation skills: Having this skill is a great way to get a job by presenting tour skills and qualities to show a presentation of your skills and qualifications could motivate employers to hire you for jobs in TV and Film.

Self presentation: To get any sort of job presenting yourself professional is important as it comes across to employers that you are committed and willing to work hard for your job.

Career development

By having training during your job is a very useful way of learning about your job and what exactly you would need to do for it. This is a great way to train and doing your job at the same time. Having the opportunity to train whilst doing your job can be very beneficial with the practical jobs such as camera operator as having training helps you with your career in TV and Film. 

Continuing professional development is very useful to have because it can help maintain and even increase your skill and knowledge which is very useful for jobs in TV and Film like a director. By having continuing professional development is suitable for a directors job as you are developing your skills which you could apply into producing a lot of TV and Film.

Self training is also what is sometimes needed to get jobs in TV and Film such as teaching yourself about the media and using laptops which is a useful skill for the post production of Film and TV.

The skills that are needed for this job I have such as the ability to work with people as I work well with other people. This job would be good to have as I feel that I can carry out the responsibilities that are needed as I am organised and can get things done. Another good skill that I have and will help with this job would be ms office skill as I have experience in working with it.
